Copper based plant protection products are used in all major plant crops, important from nutritional, economic and social aspects in Europe and other continents. The major plant crops in which copper fungicides are used to control fungal diseases are: vine grape for control of downy mildew (Plasmopara viticola), potato and tomato for control of potato blight (Phytophtora infestans) and early blight (Alternaria solani), pome fruit trees for control of scab (Venturia inaequalis) and fire blight (Erwinia amylovora), peaches and nectarines for control of peach leaf curl disease (Taphrina deformans), olives for control of olive peacock spot (Cycloconium oleaginum), hop for control of downy mildew of hop (Pseudoperonospora humuli) and numerous other diseases. In the last years, also the bacterial diseases have become more important in crop productions and we are successfully suppressing them with copper compounds too.
The most important bacterial diseases which are suppressed with copper compounds belong to genus Erwinia sp., Xanthomonas sp., Pseudomonas sp., Ralstonia sp., Clavibacter sp., Agrobacterium sp. and Xyllea fastidiosa.
When considering to make powder copper fungicide, there is a need for good and usable formulation that will be guide every stage of production of fungicide. Also, this formulation is needed in order to decide which ingredients and in what quantites should be used for fungicide.
